Workshop canceled due to low enrollments. Please check our calendar for further updates. Thank you.

Each year, states receive properties that are presumed abandoned after a period of inactivity by the rightful owner, such as unclaimed wages, gift certificates, bank accounts and safe deposit box contents. The Unclaimed Property Law allows the state to reunite lost and abandoned property with its rightful owner(s) and to safeguard these properties from being used by private interests for personal gain.

We are pleased to have staff from the State Controller Betty T. Yee Unclaimed Property Division in this workshop to walk you through the process of reporting unclaimed property and give you important knowledge in terms of protecting your own interest.

The topics include but are not limited to:

  • Definition of unclaimed property.
  • Steps to report unclaimed property.
  • Important dates regarding reporting unclaimed property.
  • Question and answer time – reporting unclaimed property.

You can also visit https://www.sco.ca.gov/upd_rptg.html for more information and RSVP for one-on-one assistance.
