Here at PACE Business Development Center , we work diligently to help low-income individuals start up and operate their own businesses. As a non-profit organization, we welcome your time, support, and contributions in helping fulfill the dreams of these individuals and fostering our ever-growing business community. A small contribution on your part is an enormous contribution to those you've helped!
From volunteering your business expertise, working with us as an intern, becoming a corporate sponsor, or making an individual contribution, there are a variety of ways to get involved and start making a difference in someone's life.
Volunteer
As an experienced business veteran, consider joining the PACE MicroTeam as a business consultant for our Technical Assistance (TA) program! MicroTeam members will provide hands-on technical assistance to low- and moderate-income small business owners. We are looking to recruit those who can provide assistance in the following areas:
- Business Plan Development
- Feasibility and strategic planning
- Market analysis
- Advertising and Promotions
- E-commerce Implementation
- Cash Flow Planning
- Cost Analysis and Pricing
Joining the PACE MicroTeam provides volunteers with the opportunity to:
- Use your skills to directly impact minority and women-owned small businesses
- Provide one-on-one technical assistance to low/moderate income entrepreneurs
- Contribute to economic development in LA as part of a dynamic business development team
- Practice and enhance your own consulting skills
- Meet other professionals at our networking events
- Have fun and provide a service to your community!
MicroTeam members meet one-on-one with PACE BDC clients to work on the issues that are crucial to small business success. Members can choose to specialize in a single area of technical assistance, or can consult on a wide range of issues. All meetings are scheduled and facilitated by PACE BDC staff, and occur at our Center in Downtown Los Angeles. MicroTeam members can choose to conduct meetings on a bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed basis.

Internships
PACE BDC views internships as a way to enhance your career and personal growth while tapping into emerging talent for the benefit of the community. As an intern with PACE BDC, you will get an inside view of non-profit management and consulting, and have flexibility to work on the projects that are the most interesting to you. Fall, Spring and Summer internships are available.
All positions are on a volunteer basis. College credit may be available depending on the requirements of your college or university. An ideal candidate would be available 10-15 hours a week, would be motivated and outgoing, organized, able to work with groups of people, and possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills in addition to being proficient in Microsoft Office and the Internet. This opportunity is appropriate for undergraduate students, but graduate students are welcome to apply.

Individual Donations
PACE is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 and IRS tax-exempt corporation. Contribution to the corporation is generally considered to be a charitable donation.
